Design and Analysis of an Automated Assembly Process for Manufacturing Paint Brush Knots


Abstract:

The first objectives of this study were to develop associate assembly system which will 1) increase product quality, and 2) improve the assembly rate.

The secondary objective was to develop a group of style pointers for handling versatile components like artificial filaments at intervals provided housings. so as to develop the machine-driven assembly method, desires analysis and merchandise style specification exercises were performed initial, followed by practical decomposition of the method at the primary level.

Styles for individual subsystems were developed next exploitation practical decomposition at lower levels, conception generation, conception analysis, practicability testing, testing for style parameters, style through solid modeling, strength analysis, conception testing exploitation physical prototypes and scheme refinement. so as to assess the response of filament assemblies once subjected to external loading and moving relative to the housings, experiments were designed and conducted. For a spread of things, tests were conducted to ascertain limits of actuation force needed to displace filament bundles at intervals the housings. Correlations relating filament motion to applied loading were developed for a range of housing geometries and material sorts.

Results indicate that the standard of the brushes was abundant on top of the standard hand-made brushes which the productivity would nearly double. Upon delivery of the system to the corporate sponsoring this analysis, it's expected that the system developed would be able to manufacture up to three million brushes annually.
